The Origin

Two people posing with award-winning alpacas against a backdrop of hay bales and blue sky.

For more than two decades, Ian and Angela settled amongst the rolling green pastures in country Victoria, Australia, raising their young family and tending to their beloved alpacas, quickly becoming one of Australia’s leading alpaca breeders.

 Nature's Finest, Carefully Classed.

The world's leading luxury houses prize alpaca fibre for its exceptional softness, warmth, lightness and enduring performance.

At Scotch Group, every fleece is carefully hand-classed and selected for fineness, length, colour and cleanliness. This meticulous process creates exceptional consistency while preserving the unique character of a natural fibre.

The result is a fibre that spins beautifully, performs reliably and delivers the refined softness, loft and lasting quality that define every Scotch fibre.

 The Art of Fibre Classing

Every fleece is carefully hand-classed through a disciplined process refined by experience, continuous training and rigorous quality standards. Independent testing, including by the Australian Wool Testing Authority (AWTA), helps verify the consistency and integrity of our fibre.

Through the Scotch Method, we reinvest in our farming communities and work with our partners to continually improve fibre quality, while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and ethical, cruelty-free practices.
